President’s Message

SME Sustainability Society (SMESS) has entered its fifth year, and I would like to thank all members for their support and participation. Despite facing the severe challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic in the past two years, the work of our association has not come to a halt. The board members of the association have remained united and dedicated to advancing the various initiatives and promotional activities.

With the global focus on environmental sustainability, social responsibility, and corporate management, stakeholders from all levels of society are increasingly recognizing their importance. As the new leadership team of the association, we will continue to promote the concept of sustainable development, innovate management practices, guide small and medium enterprises towards success, take on corporate social responsibility, nurture and cultivate elite leaders, and implement innovative ideas.

We firmly believe that small and medium enterprises play a crucial role in socioeconomic development. The association and I are committed to providing better support and resources for small and medium enterprises, facilitating their opportunities for sustainable growth. We will organize various learning and networking activities, provide training courses and professional guidance to help stakeholders in small and medium enterprises acquire the latest management knowledge and skills.

Small and medium enterprises possess unique advantages in terms of innovation and flexibility. They can adapt to market changes more quickly, adjust business models and strategies with greater agility, and seize fast-emerging opportunities amidst uncertainty. Furthermore, small and medium enterprises also contribute significantly to economic growth and employment, driving the development of the business economy.

Additionally, small and medium enterprises play a vital role in sustainable development. Through the adoption of environmentally friendly practices, implementation of sustainable business models and technologies, they can reduce natural resource consumption and minimize environmental impact. Such sustainable practices not only contribute to environmental protection but also earn recognition from stakeholders.

However, small and medium enterprises still face numerous challenges, such as financial pressures, market competition, and technological advancements. To address these challenges, continuous learning and growth are necessary for small and medium enterprises to explore new opportunities and solutions. Strengthening collaboration between businesses and institutions, enhancing innovation capabilities, nurturing talent, and leveraging technology to improve operational efficiency are key.
